Canalys: Here are the top 5 smartphone vendors in the Philippines (Q2 2022)

Market research firm Canalys has recently revealed the top mobile players in the country for the second quarter of 2022.

realme vs TECNO, Infinix, itel?

realme is still on top!

Still on the very top is realme with a 20 percent unit share despite a  negative 21 percent annual growth. In Q2, the brand released the realme 9 series. realme also made its sub-brand narzo an independent brand in the Philippines.

Surging at number 2 is Transsion, the brand behind TECNO, Infinix, and itel with 17 percent of the pie and a whopping 202 percent growth. If this trend will continue, we won't be surprised if the group will topple realme on top.

At number 3 is OPPO with 16 percent and 31 percent growth followed by Xiaomi at number 4 with 15 percent and 1 percent growth.

At the bottom is South Korean firm Samsung with 14 percent of the share despite the positive 14 percent growth.

Not on the list is vivo, but we can expect them to bounce back next quarter since most of their offerings are really solid recently.

Here are the top 5 smartphone vendors in the Philippines (Q2 2022):

1. realme - 20 percent unit share (-21 percent annual growth)

2. Transsion - 17 percent (+202 percent)

3. OPPO - 16 percent (+31 percent)

4. Xiaomi - 15 percent (+1 percent)

5. Samsung - 14 percent (+14 percent)

Globally, on top is still Samsung followed by Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. Canalys reported that Global smartphone shipments down 9 percent in Q2 2022 as demand falls.
