Sony Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition + Xperia Stream

The Sony Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition features an IP68-rated body and a 6.5-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, and 4K resolution at a wide 21:9 aspect ratio. This is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus as well.

Designed for streaming?

Under the hood, the device has the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, new-gen Adreno GPU, and a large 5,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 30W fast charging.

The difference between the regular Xperia 1 IV? It now has 16GB RAM instead of 12GB. The storage is 512GB.

For cameras, it has a trio of 12MP shooters with ZEISS optics. This includes a 24mm equivalent f/1.7 primary camera with a 1/1.7-inch sensor + OIS, a 16mm f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 85 to 125mm f/2.3-2.8 telephoto camera + OIS. It has a 3D iToF sensor as well.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, 3.5mm jack, WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, BT 5.2, NFC, GPS, and dual SIM slots (nano + eSIM).

The ports of Xperia Stream

Apart from the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition, Sony revealed the Xperia Stream.

As the name suggests, it is a streaming device designed specifically for the Xperia 1 IV.

It is made to offer users a more comfortable grip for long streaming sessions, a cooling fan at the back to keep its performance in check, and a total of 4 ports at the back. In particular, you will find a full-sized HDMI port with FHD 120Hz output support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and an ethernet port.

Sony also said that the Xperia Stream integrates with the Game enhancer on the Xperia 1 IV to display the real-time status of your device and ramp up the cooling fan when needed and its Game enhancer gives users access to manual fan speed controls and thermal boost settings.
