vivo announces another Y-series smartphone in Indonesia called Y22 which packs a 2-year-old MediaTek chipset and a big battery.
Like other newer vivo handsets, the Y22 comes with a stylish rear design. Based on the photo you will see one with a matt finish and another two with light gradient colors in either squared patterns or wave-like patterns. The said colorways are Starlite Blue, Metaverse Green, and Summer Cyan.
It still has a dewdrop display with a size of 6.55-inch LCD with 1612 x 720 HD+ resolution.
Inside, it has a 12nm 2.4GHz MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor and Mali-G52 GPU. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Although vivo says there will be a 6GB/128GB variant soon.
The device is powered by a huge 5,000mAh battery and charges through USB-C and an 18W power adaptor.
Its rear cameras have a 50MP sensor and another 2MP macro helper. Meanwhile, the selfie shooter uses 8MP.
Other features mentioned are the IPX4 splashproof rating and the IP5X dustproof rating. There's also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone easier.
For connectivity, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and Dual SIM nano.
As for software, it is using Funtouch OS 12 based on the Android operating system.

It is now available via preorder on vivo's Indonesia website. As of the moment, we can't say yet if it will arrive in the Philippines.
