Apple iPad 10th gen announced with A14, USB-C and colorful design!

Apple releases its newer generation of the iPad with a newer chipset and some upgrades.

New iPad with A14 chip and USB-C!

This will be Apple's entry-level level tablet called the iPad 10th Gen. It is now upgraded with a 5nm A14 Bionic chip with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. To recall, this is already a 2-year-old former flagship chipset that we've first seen on the iPhone 12 series.

The new iPad also comes with a slimmer body and colorful rear covers. Based on the photos, it is available in Silver, Yellow, Pink, and Blue color options.

Bigger display!

Its display is also now bigger with 10.9-inch IPS LCD True Tone with 2360 x 1640 resolution, 500 nits brightness, and oleophobic coating.

The A14 chip is paired with 64GB or 256GB storage options although apparently, the RAM info is not disclosed.

For the battery, it uses a 28.6WHr size which the brand claims to last up to 10 hours of web surfing. Another highlight will be the shift to USB-C from lightning cables for charging.

The new iPad uses 12MP f/1.8 AF rear camera which shoots 4K video while the selfie shooter uses another 12MP f/2.4 with ultrawide capabilities (122-degree).

Other features are the top-mounted fingerprint reader, external display support, and 1st gen Apple Pencil support (sold separately). The irony though is that the stylus uses a lightning cable port for charging. Fortunately, it comes with a USB-C to lightning adapter out of a box.

Separate Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard

The iPad 10th gen will also now have a new optional Magic Keyboard Folio with a kickstand and a trackpad. It also magnetically connects via the Smart Connector.

Just like before, it has WiFi and Cellular models (eSIM or nano SIM 5G) which will be its main connectivity. There is also Bluetooth 5.2 and GPS but no NFC.

The software will be iPad OS 16.
