ASUS, Lenovo, Acer announces new cloud-based gaming Chromebooks

Google just announced the first batch of Chromebooks meant for cloud gaming. These are three devices from Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo.

These Chromebooks are designed to support Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna. These are also equipped to make searching and playing games easier as well.

First up, the Acer Chromebook 516 GE features a 16-inch LCD screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has an RGB keyboard to add a gamer aesthetic. Inside, it has up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB SSD storage, and a 65Whr battery.

It runs Chrome OS as well. In addition, it has WiFi 6E, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.2, 1080p webcam, quad-speakers, microphone, HDMI, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and RJ-11 modem.

The ASUS Chromebook Vibe CX55 Flip features a 15.6-inch LCD touchscreen with 1080p resolution, 250 nits peak brightness. and 45 percent NTSC color. Inside, it features up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD PCIe 3.0 storage, and 57Whr with 45W USB-C charging. As the name implies, it has a 360-degree hinge. It also has a backlit keyboard (no RGB here).

Other features include a 720p HD camera, Smart Amp technology, Harman Kardon speakers, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and RJ-11 modem.

The third one is the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook. It features a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent sRGB color gamut, 350 nits peak brightness, and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification. It also has an RGB keyboard.

Inside, it has up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, Intel Iris Xe GPU, 8GB 4,266MHz LPDDR4X RAM, 512GB m.2 SSD, and 71Whr battery. It also has a 4x 2W speakers with Waves audio, FHD webcam, WiFI 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, microSD card slot, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2.

All three cloud-gaming Chromebooks will start to be internationally starting this October. Local prices and availability are yet to be confirmed. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
