Meet the Soundpeats Mini Pro TWS

The Soundpeats Mini Pro TWS earbuds arrived in the Philippines back in August. As a recap, it is a pair of TWS earbuds with a 10mm driver with a Qualcomm 3040 chip. It also has Active Noise Canceling, Transparency Mode, and more.

It is priced at PHP 3,490 here in the Philippines.

Read on to check what we think about it.

Meet Soundpeats Soundpeats Mini Pro

The Soundpeats Mini Pro came in a white box with a photo of the earbuds worn by a pretty white-haired female model. The Soundpeats logo is also printed with a holographic finish for a CD-like sheen. It has Sounpeats branding, key specs, and regulatory information.

Inside, you get the earbuds inside the charging case, a USB-C cable, and extra silicone tips in case you need a more snug fit.

For the build, the charging case is made out of polycarbonate material with a matte finish. It is an oval-shaped charging case with a top-hinged cover. The hinge mechanism is snappy yet easy to open when needed.

The USB-C charging port is found at the back of the case. There is a LED charging indicator in front under the Soundpeats logo.

The TWS earbuds have a stem-less design with silicone tips. It has the Soundpeats logo on both the touch control surface for each earbud as well.

The earbuds have a mix of glossy plastic and matte plastic materials. It is also IPX5 water resistant only. It is not designed for swimming, showering, steam rooms, or anything above sweat or splashes. But, this is good enough for workouts.

For comfort and isolation, the Soundpeats Mini Pro is light at just 4.97 g. The fit is great for me out of the box with the default tips but if you need adjustments, two more tips will be available for you.

Sound isolation is also decent. The inclusion of Hybrid Active Noise Cancelation is great if you need to really focus on what you are listening to. Transparency Mode is also available if you need to let outside noise in like when you are walking outdoors or someone was talking to you.

For audio, both earbuds have a 10mm driver each. These drivers do have a punch them. The mids were clear yet not strained, the highs have a nice warm presence, and the bass has a substantial kick to them. Overall, it is a well-rounded sound experience even in different music genres.

You can still customize your audio experience via your smartphone's EQ if you see the need for it. In addition, there's great Bluetooth codec compatibility, which includes aptX Adaptive, SBC, and normal aptX. There's no AAC support for iOS users though.

Game Mode activates a low latency feature that lowers the transmission delay to as low as 60ms. It is a good inclusion but we did not feel that much of a difference in real-life usage.

One of the things I want to see from Soundpeats in general is a dedicated app for their earbuds that we can use for managing EQs, ANC modes, and calibration.

Although it isn't terrible, I would classify the call quality as more than just fine. The Qualcomm cVc technology does assist in boosting voices on both ends of a call, but I discovered that outcomes were far better in calmer settings. Background noise will still seep through your calls like wind and pet noises.

With our usage of ANC almost all the time, we get around 6 hours of continuous playback. Without ANC, you can expect 2 to 3 hours more. The charging case can provide you around 21 hours of extra juice with its 300mAh battery. The charging case can be fully charged in just 90 minutes.

Touch controls for the Soundpeats Mini Pro:

1 tap left earbud - Volume down
1 tab right earbud - Volume up
Double tap - Play/Pause or Answer/Hang up calls
Triple tap left earbud - Enter/Exit Game Mode
Triple tap right earbud - Activate Voice Assitant
1.5-sec long press left earbud - Switch between ANC, Normal, Transparency
1.5-sec long press right earbud - Play next song

These are all responsive and intuitive touch controls. Our gripe is that we needed to search Soundpeat's website for instructions on how to use the controls. We needed to watch a YouTube tutorial for it. A bit of an instructional document would be helpful in future iterations.

Pros - Lightweight, great balanced audio quality, effective Hybrid ANC technology, good battery life, touch controls, IPX5 sweat resistance,
Cons - Game mode can be better, no wireless charging support, no instructions for touch controls out of the box, and no app support, call quality can be better

Quick thoughts

Our thoughts
Our thoughts

At PHP 3,490, the Soundpeats Mini Pro TWS earbuds are great. It is a pair of well-rounded earbuds with great balanced audio, lightweight build, Hybrid ANC, good battery life, touch controls, and IPX5 sweat resistances.

There are things that still need improvements such as faster Game Mode, wireless charging support, a dedicated app (this is a request for Soundpeats overall), and better noise reduction during calls.

These are all minor things that can be easily improved on the next iteration though. For the price, it is a good buy.

What do you guys think?
