FUJIFILM launches the new X-T5 weather-sealed APS-C mirrorless camera with a new 40MP sensor, Pixel Shift Multi-shot feature, and improved IBIS.

Brings focus back to photography?

After launching the X-H2s and X-H2 earlier this year, FUJIFILM also introduces the next generation of its photography-focused X-T mirrorless camera line.

The new X-T5 comes with the new 40MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor with a 7-stop IBIS mechanism which was first introduced with the X-H2. It is paired with the X-Processor 5 which enables the camera to capture 14-bit RAW photos and HEIF 4:2:2 10-bit video footage. These files are written thru the two UHS-II SD card slots.

It can shoot images with a shutter speed of 30-seconds up to 1/180,000 with the electronic shutter. The electronic shutter can capture up to 20fps with a 1.29x crop. It also inherits the Pixel Shift technology from the X-H2 series that allows users to capture images with four times the resolution and color accuracy.

Several new features include the new AI Autofocus with 117 AF points and the Deep-Learning-based Auto White Balance.

Return of the 3-way tilt-screen

At the back is a 0.5-inch 3.69 Million-dot OLED color electronic viewfinder while below it is a 1.84-million-dot 3-inch 3-way Tilt-type touch screen color LCD monitor.

The camera can capture video footage up to 6.2K at 30fps and 360Mbps bandwidth. 

Included are the 19 FUJIFILM Film Simulation modes including the Nostalgic Neg preset.

It uses the NP-W235 battery and is rated for up to 130 minutes of 6.2K video recording or 580 still photo shots.

The body measures 129.5 x 91 x 63.8 mm and weighs 557 grams which makes it smaller and lighter than the FUJIFILM X-T4 which measures 134.6 x 92.8 x 63.8 and weighs 607 grams.

When combined with an ATOMOS HDMI Device, the RAW Video output can be recorded as 12-bit Apple ProRes RAW. And when combined with a Blackmagic Design Video Assist 12Gs, the RAW video output can be recorded as Black Magic RAW.

New compact macro lens!

Alongside the new camera, is the new XF 30mm F2.8 R LM WR Macro lens. It has a 45 mm equivalent field of view, an Aperture ring, and weather resistance.
