Globe's aggressive Visayas service rollout is underway!

The company upgraded 1,126 cell sites to 4G LTE and installed 129 new cell towers in the first nine months of this year. This additional infrastructure is required to support the expanding tourism and IT-BPO sectors in the area as well as to fulfill the rising need for connectivity for work, study, and pleasure.

The Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN), another initiative by Globe, uses "fiberization" to meet the demand for dependable communications. The longest domestic submarine cable in the nation will be installed as part of this joint venture with Eastern Communications and InfiniVAN, Inc.

The Visayas already have numerous locations where the USD 150-million project has already set up shop, enabling fiber connectivity. Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Roxas City, Palompon, Leyte, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City, Tagbilaran City, Baclayon, Bohol, San Carlos City, Toledo City, Caticlan, Aklan, and Boracay are among the Visayas landing sites for the project.

As part of its overall commitment to infrastructure and innovation to deliver a #1stWorldNetwork worldwide, Globe is rolling out its network throughout the Visayas region.

From January through September 2022, the corporation recorded capital expenditures of PHP 74.4 billion, a 14 percent increase over the same period in 2021. The nationwide addition of 1,887 new 5G sites and the upgrade of 10,600 mobile sites to LTE took up about 84 percent of the overall CAPEX budget.

According to a third-quarter examination of Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data, Globe's network upgrades have cemented its status as the Most Reliable Mobile Network in the Philippines. With 82.55 and 92.03 respectively, the company received the top ratings for overall technology consistency and availability.
