Here are its features!

The new 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor features 0.6μm and 1/1.3-inch sensor size. It uses the Tetra Pixel advanced pixel-binning that transforms the output into a 1.2μm 50MP image or 2.4μm 12.5MP image in lowlight scenarios.

It can also shoot 33MP 8K videos by switching into 1.2μm 50MP mode. This minimizes cropping allowing shooters to capture more of the scene. It shoots 8K at 30fps in this wider FOV to produce cinematic videos.

Samsung also introduced the new Dual Vertical Transfer Gate or D-VTG technology that can significantly reduce washed-out images from bright shots. Another feature is Super QPD which allows the sensor to use all of the 200MP for focusing agents in lowlight situations. This will then result in faster and more accurate autofocus.

For better HDR performance, Samsung is introducing the DSG feature for the first time in 50MP mode, which applies two distinct conversion values to the analog signal received at the pixel level. Furthermore, the Smart-ISO Pro, an HDR solution that combines different levels of ISO readouts from a single exposure, enables the camera to capture 12.5MP images and 4K at 60fps video in HDR with remarkable clarity and detail.

Since Samsung confirmed that the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor is now in mass production, we can expect it to come along with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
