Razer introduced Project Carol Concept Design which aims to bring a different level of immersion for hardcore gamers.
It is currently a first-in-the-world technology and was displayed at the recent CES 2023. The concept is basically a head support or cushion that users may attach to gaming chairs.
The difference is that the head cushion is embedded with surround sound speakers on both sides while also having the ability to provide haptics.
Razer says it differs from traditional speakers as Project Carol can deliver closer and more direct rear audio that focuses on the user's hearing for that ultimate immersive experience.
It also uses the so-called Razer HYPERSENSE technology which enables the cushion to instantly transform sound signals into realistic vibrations so users can feel a 3D-like experience when gaming.
The new device also supports 7.1 surround sound output or any media with up to 7.1 encodings while it also connects wirelessly using a 2.4GHz receiver.
For battery, the brand claims it can last up to 8 hours and charges using a USB-C cable.
Finally, Project Carol is compatible with all gaming chairs as per Razer's statement. This is because it uses top and bottom stretchable straps that can extend from 310mm to 350mm.
