HONOR Magic9 Pro Max launched: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme, 200MP ARRI cameras, and 10K nit Display

The device features groundbreaking optical co-engineering in collaboration with the renowned cinema camera manufacturer, ARRI. It includes dedicated hardware modularity along with top-tier silicon and display innovations.
This device refines the brand's signature camera aesthetics, showcasing an enlarged, centered 'Eye of Muse' camera module encased in a polished metal bezel. Measuring 161.6 x 77 x 8.6 mm and weighing 233 grams, the body incorporates quad-curved glass on both the front and rear, creating a seamless, contoured profile that fits comfortably in the hand. Its high-grade aluminum frame ensures structural integrity, while the back panel is finished with a matte AG coating designed to minimize fingerprints, smudges, and glare. The colors available are Shadow Black, Glacier Silver, and Moss Green. It is engineered for robust environmental protection, boasting IP68 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
Dominating the front of the device is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED 'Black Diamond' screen, which delivers a resolution of 1,320 x 2,868 with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.1 percent. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz, features 1 billion colors, and is compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid. Notably, the screen reaches a peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits and a high-brightness mode of 2,000 nits. To reduce eye strain during prolonged night use, HONOR implements 4,320 Hz PWM dimming technology. Protection comes from HONOR's upgraded NanoCrystal Shield, reinforced with 5,600 layers of silicon nitride, making it significantly more scratch- and drop-resistant than standard smartphone glass. An anti-reflective coating enhances outdoor readability.
At the core of the Magic9 Pro Max is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme chipset, paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage, and an 8,800 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Charging options include 100W wired fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The standout feature is its co-engineered ARRI camera system, supported by a custom 6nm HONOR Drive H1 imaging NPU, capable of operating at 18.8 TOPS/W for RAW-domain processing.
On the back, the device showcases a 200 MP f/1.57 main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and CIPA 8.0 stabilization, a 200 MP f/2.6 ARRI Ultra Night Telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, 3.5x optical zoom, OIS, and CIPA 8.0 stabilization, along with a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view, PDAF, and LED flash.
For selfies, it features a 55 MP front camera with a TOF 3D sensor for advanced biometrics and depth sensing.

HONOR's official Chinese portal highlights specialized cinematic ecosystem accessories, including official support for G500/G200 Teleconverter Lenses designed to attach without obstructing secondary lenses. Additionally, there are first-party Camera Master Suits and SmallRig Video Cage Kits. Audio capabilities are enhanced with large-amplitude stereo speakers and a dedicated cinematic-grade directional microphone.
Out of the box, the Magic9 Pro Max runs on MagicOS 11, based on Android 17, with HONOR promising long-term software support for up to 7 major OS updates. The software deeply integrates ARRI's professional color science, offering native support for ARRI LogC3 Curved & Wide Gamut 3 video pipelines, along with 87 preset ARRI Looks and dedicated shooting modes such as ARRI Master.
System-level AI features powered by the upgraded YOYO assistant utilize the chipset's processing power to provide enhanced contextual tools, predictive battery management, and real-time multi-modal task automation.
