PLDT shares 5 tips to upgrade Home Entertainment, up to 15% off Samsung TVs

As rainy-season weekends keep more families indoors, PLDT Home is promoting a partnership with Samsung that offers subscribers discounts on selected Samsung televisions and entertainment devices. The promotion runs through the end of September.

Samsung, which describes itself as the world's top-selling TV and soundbar brand, is providing the discounts. The companies say the offer is meant to help households build a more immersive entertainment setup at home. 

PLDT Home has also shared 5 suggestions for upgrading a home entertainment system without overspending:

1. Start with a larger screen - For shared viewing, whether movies, K-dramas, or live sports, a bigger display can noticeably change the experience. PLDT Home suggests investing in one quality smart TV rather than upgrading several smaller devices. Samsung's Mini LED and OLED models range from 50 to 100 inches. To stream 4K content without buffering, the companies recommend pairing the TV with a reliable fiber internet connection.

2. Get a soundbar - A soundbar can improve the audio of films, concerts, sports, and everyday streaming without the complexity of a full home theater system. Samsung's Q-Symphony feature lets compatible TVs and soundbars play audio through both devices' speakers at once, producing fuller sound. PLDT Home's promotion also covers sound equipment.

3. Pair the TV with a dependable connection - Modern smart TVs support features such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), high refresh rates, and ultra-high-definition streaming, all of which depend on a stable connection. 

Samsung Smart TVs also include Samsung TV Plus, which offers free live and on-demand content without a separate subscription. A fiber connection can support 4K streaming, online gaming, and video calls at the same time in one household.

4. Build the setup gradually - A full home entertainment system does not need to be bought all at once. PLDT Home recommends starting with a fiber connection and a smart TV, then adding a soundbar or smart home accessories as the budget allows. The company says its bundles and promotions can reduce costs as the setup grows.

5. Consider bundled offers - PLDT Home says bundles generally offer better value than buying devices and services separately.
