XPENG launches in the Philippines, introduces X9 Flagship MPV and L03 SUV Coupe

Global Physical AI company XPENG has officially entered the Philippines' automotive market, introducing its X9 flagship MPV and L03 SUV Coupe.

XPENG is finally in the Philippines!

Electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has officially launched its operations in the Philippines. Unveiled during a launch event at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the brand introduced its initial vehicle lineup tailored for executive transport, family use, and daily commuting.

The entry marks a key step in XPENG's international expansion, bringing software-driven electric mobility to Filipino drivers alongside previews of low-altitude flight and personal robotics platforms.

Founded in 2014, XPENG focuses on in-house research and development for core vehicle systems. Over 40 percent of its workforce is dedicated to engineering roles, allowing the company to build its own software systems, electrical structures, and automated driver assistance capabilities.

XPENG currently operates across 60 countries and regions worldwide and has produced over 1.2 million vehicles globally to date. It develops software and hardware platforms internally, including driver assistance tools, battery management, and custom processing architectures.

The company is introducing two main model lines to the local market: the X9 luxury passenger vehicle and the L03 fastback crossover.

XPENG X9 - 7-seater luxury MPV

The XPENG X9 is a large seven-seater vehicle designed for executive transport and large families. It combines a spacious interior with chassis features intended to make driving a large vehicle in dense traffic simpler. It features a starship-inspired aerodynamic silhouette with a low drag coefficient. It includes a sharp geometric front end, flush glass surfaces, continuous front and rear LED light bars, and integrated die-cast aluminum body framing. It measures 5,293 x 1,988 x 1.785mm with a wheelbase of 3,160mm. It weighs 2,640kg with a cargo space of 721L or up to 2,554 when seats are folded.

Inside is styled as a 7.7 m² executive lounge; the interior uses zero-gravity seating materials, soft-touch leather finishes, and a flat-floor cabin layout. It features a 1.31 m² panoramic glass roof, a built-in central refrigerator, five-zone climate control, and wrapped ambient lighting.

It is powered by a Single Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor with a maximum output of 235kW (315 hp) and 450 Nm of torque. Inside is the 110 kWh ternary NCM Battery with an 800V Architecture that gives it up to 615 km of range. It has a top speed of 200km/h and a 0-100km/h acceleration of 7.75 seconds.

The 800V high-voltage architecture allows compatible DC fast chargers to restore the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 12 minutes.

XPENG L03 - Fastback Crossover

The XPENG L03 is designed under the direction of Juanma Lopez and features an aggressive coupe-SUV silhouette with frameless doors, flushside windows, dual-blade active grille shutters, and 20-inch aero-spoke sport wheels. It measures 4,650 x 1,920 x 1,600mm with a 2,850mm wheelbase. It weighs 1935kg and has a cargo space of 539L (up to 1,640L when folded). It also has a front trunk that can carry 102L.

Inside the 5-seater is a wraparound cockpit layout wrapped in velvet and microfiber materials. It includes a low-E double-silver panoramic glass roof, 256-color interactive ambient lighting, hidden power-adjustable air vents, twin 50W wireless phone charging pads, and 40 integrated accessory expansion ports.

Powering the Crossover Coupe are the Single Rear PMSM Electric Motor (BEV & REEV) with the 1.5L I4 Gasoline Range Extender Generator (on the REEV). It has a maximum output of BEV/REEV RWD 183kW (245 HP)/AWD 285kW (382 HP) and 280 Nm of torque. 

The BEV variant comes with a 58.3kWh or 71.1kWh LFP battery. The REEV variant comes with a 215km (Electric)/1,017km(combined). It has a top speed of 180km/hr and has a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.0 seconds (AWD)/6.8 seconds (REEV RWD), and 7.5 seconds (BEV RWD).

Future Mobility Concepts

Alongside the production road vehicles, XPENG showcased concepts from its broader engineering platforms: 

• XPENG AEROHT Electric Aircraft - A low-altitude electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle designed for two passengers. Features an ultra-light carbon-fiber airframe, zero operational emissions, and support for both manual control and fully automated route flight.
• IRON Humanoid Robot - A bipedal robotic platform built using XPEG's proprietary Turing AI processing architecture, designed to perform tasks across manufacturing facilities and interactive retail customer service settings.

Both the X9 and L03 come with a 5-year bumper-to-bumper vehicle warranty, an 8-year battery and motor warranty, and 5 years of roadside assistance and a charging unit. The X9 comes with 5 years of complimentary maintenance, while the L03 comes with complimentary maintenance.

Reservations for both vehicles are now open, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter.
