Motorola Signature 27 launched: Snapdragon 8 Elite Exteme Gen 6, 200MP periscope camera, Bang & Olufsen audio

The device was announced at the Qualcomm Tech Summit and marks a shift to a year-based naming convention for the series.

In terms of colors and design, the Signature 27 will be offered in two finishes: Coal Smoke, featuring a Tactical Weave texture, and Capulet Green, also referred to as Capulet Olive, with a brushed, textile-inspired surface. 

The phone's design draws on the aesthetic of earlier Droid Razr models, most notably in its bold, multi-module rear camera arrangement, which departs from more conventional camera layouts.

Its display uses a 6.8-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and slim symmetric bezels. 

The cameras

Inside, the Signature 27 runs on the 5GHz 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 octa-core processor with an improved Adreno GPU.

Motorola says the new platform brings stronger on-device AI processing, more responsive gaming performance, faster network connectivity, and camera enhancements.

It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Motorola also detailed a new thermal management system via the ArcticMesh. The company claims it is designed to prevent overheating during demanding tasks such as AI processing, gaming, and video recording. 

Additionally, the system combines a vapor chamber that is 40 percent larger than before with liquid metal, a copper mesh layer, and diamond-infused thermal gel, intended to sustain performance without significant throttling.

On the battery side, it uses a 6,000mAh capacity, though the charging speed has not been disclosed yet.

For cameras, it is equipped with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor + 200MP periscope telephoto with up to 100x Super Zoom. Unfortunately, the rest of the sensor's details were not mentioned 

On the audio front, the Signature 27 features a premium sound profile developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen.

The phone will ship with seven years of Android OS and security updates, one of the longer software support commitments in Motorola's lineup.

Motorola has not yet confirmed exact global pricing or a specific release date. The company has stated that the Signature 27 will launch worldwide sometime in 2026, with a North American release confirmed for this November.
