It comes with a traditional rectangular box in mostly White colors, you'll see the image of the phone at the center, while the name is written at the top portion and the sides of the box.

Opening it will greet you with the smartphone itself, the USB-C cable and 22.5W fast charger, transparent TPU Case, SIM injector tool, the familiar papers for warranty, and a quick guide.

Although we noticed that there were no earphones included inside.

Build Quality/Design

The HONOR X7a  uses mostly plastic material on its body and it strikes a modern look with its shiny yet frosty rear design. Twisting it will give you some glares allowing you to appreciate its elegant look.

By the way, we got the Ocean Blue color variant but there are also Titanium Silver and Midnight Black choices.

The rear cover has a smooth texture when touching it, but just to let you know it won't slide off easily on your hands. Anyway, we noticed that it is prone to fingerprint smudges. But it is less noticeable after touching as the moisture will fade but not completely. It is better to use the case here if you hate that.

Upfront, you'll be greeted with a huge 6.74-inch LCD screen with HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 85.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. There's a notch at the top however this is smaller this time while the chin bezel is also thinner compared to other budget phones.

Our battery challenge and the estimated standby time

HONOR takes pride in its huge 6,000mAh battery and we recently put it to the test. We were able to achieve 19 hours using the PC Mark benchmark that simulates video playback, web browsing, social surfing, and more.

The result is impressive and should give you enough juice for your daily tasks on a smartphone. If you're a casual user, the battery may last up until the next day or even more.

For the camera, HONOR implemented four sensors here with the 50MP primary + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth and another 2MP macro. For selfies, it is equipped with 8MP f/2.0 sensors.

As you can see, the HONOR X7a is capable of taking great shots in our daylight and indoor samples. The colors are accurate and have good dynamic range and good details. While the ultra-wide-angle shooter serves its purpose it's not perfect as you can notice some glares when in this mode.

On other hand, there's a 2x zoom as well with a nearly similar result as the normal shot.

However, when it comes to the low-light scenarios, it is evident the phone suffers from a lot of noise and glares but there are still colors noticeable even though the scene is almost dark.

As of the moment

We're pretty much impressed with how generous HONOR is with its offerings in terms of battery life, cameras, respectable RAM, and storage. However, its processor is not the speediest we've seen under PHP 8K.

The battery's standby mode is outstanding in that even if you left it for 3 days with a full charge you'll be getting around 45-50 percent of juice not to mention that it has 22.5W fast charging to cope with the big battery.

So far, this is an interesting device.

We will update you once our full review is up.
