MediaTek Dimensity 7200 announced for mid-range devices!

MediaTek unveils a new arsenal specifically designed for mid-range smartphones called the Dimensity 7200.

MediaTek has a new powerful mid-range processor!

This new SoC focuses on gaming and photography, two of the most popular features by most users today.

It is made by TSMC using an N4P process similar to the Dimenisty 9200. It has 2x 2.8GHz Cortex-A715 cores and 6x Cortex A510 cores. The built-in GPU is Mali-G610 MC4 which can support a Full HD screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR.

The chip supports MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0, which permits AI-based Variable Rate Shading (VRS), and UFS 3.1 support for faster loading while the RAM can go up to 6,400Mbps (LPDDR5).

In terms of optics, the SoC uses a 14-bit HDR ISP with 4K HDR support for video recording while the main camera is supported up to 200MP which can shoot two videos at FHD each.

It also features APU, which allows AI-powered camera enhancements like Real-Time Portrait Beautification. While the chip can support 5G sub-6GHz with up to 4.7Gbps downlink, 2CC Carrier Aggregation, Dual SIM 5G, triband WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

The said mid-range processor is to smartphones in Q1 of 2023 but for now, there are no brands yet who have revealed using it.
