HMD announces Nokia G22 with self-repairability features!

Nokia announces its latest budget offering called the G22 which focuses on repairability and sustainability.

In line with this, the Finnish firm has collaborated with iFixit, a popular repair website and Youtube channel to provide the needed tools, guide, and parts that you will be needing when fixing the phone's display, charging port, and battery.

Eco-friendly handset!

According to the firm, users may replace their battery in around 5 minutes and it will take 20 minutes for the screen.

The brand also highlights its sustainability focus with a 100 percent recycled plastic back cover.

Moving to the internals, it uses a 6.5-inch HD+ 90Hz LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Inside, it is equipped with a 12nm 1.6GHz UNISOC octa-core chip with Mali- G57 MP1 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB storage, 5,000mAh battery with 20W USB-C fast charging.

The cameras

For cameras, it uses 50MP main sensor, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth helper. While the front-facing camera has an 8MP sensor.

Others mentioned are side-fingerprint scanner and Android 12 OS guaranteed 2 OS upgrades and 3 years of security updates.

Price and availability

Nokia G22 - GBP 130 (around PHP 8.5K)

The device is now available for purchase in the European market. However, there's no info yet if it will arrive in the Philippines.
