POCO's mid-rangers go official today in the Philippines with upgraded hardware. Let's take a look at them.

POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro announcement

The POCO X5 Series is now official in PH!

The two smartphone highlights the so-called 120Hz Flow AMOLED Dot Display with a size 6.67-inch, Full HD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and DCI-P3 color gamut.

The standard variant

There are slight differences in the screen department such as the 700 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the standard X5 model. While the Pro gets better 10-bit colors and Corning Gorilla Glas 5.

Talking about their processors, the lower variant gets a 6nm 2.2GHz SD695 octa-core processor w/ Adreno 619 GPU. The X5 Pro on the other hand gets upgraded to a 6nm 2.4GHz SD778G octa-core processor w/ Adreno 642L GPU.

Both variants get similar memory configurations of 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2.

The Pro model

While their batteries are identical as well with the 5,000mAh but differ in charging speeds with 33W and 67W, respectively. Of course, they charge using USB-C as well.

In terms of rear cameras, they are using different Megapixels in the primary sensor. The POCO X5 uses 48MP while the X5 Pro uses 108MP. The accompanying sensors are both 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide snappers and 2MP macro shooters with f/2.4 aperture.

For selfies, it will be 13MP f/2.45 and 16MP f/2.4, respectively.

Other features listed are a side-mounted fingerprint reader, AI Face unlock for security, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Connectivity-wise, the two smartphones have 5G, 4G, WiFi (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1 (5.2 on Pro), NFC, and dual SIM support.

For software, they run Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top.
