discovery+ to cease PH operation
Discovery announced on Wednesday that discovery+ will stop operations in the Philippines on April 27.
The closure of the discovery+ service in the Philippines will not affect the service in other markets and is not a reflection of Warner Bros. Discovery's interest in ensuring meaningful presence in the Philippines, the company said.
Audiences can continue to watch several popular Discovery titles on linear channels including Discovery, TLC, Asian Food Network and HGTV, it added.
Following the move, Warner Bros. Discovery said it will focus on providing HBO GO services in the Philippines.
The streaming service was launched in the Philippines in 2021.
Among the popular discovery+ shows are “Drag Race PH," "90 Day Fiancé," "Naked and Afraid," and "Ghost Adventures."
