MWC 2023: Redmi demonstrates 300W fast charging, Full battery under 5 minutes!

After achieving 200W, Redmi showcased its latest ultra-fast charging technology at the MWC 2023, Spain and this time it is ridiculously higher.

Redmi got blazing-fast 300W charging!

The phone maker displayed a handset that can charge from 0 percent to 100 percent in under 5 minutes. They also revealed a video to give you some details.

Specifically, Redmi used a modified Note 12 Discovery Edition with a 4,100mAh battery (the original variant has a dual 4,300mAh) in a controlled environment. The phone achieved 2 minutes and 11 seconds before the 50 percent mark and slightly under 5 minutes to full.

It took 4 minutes and 54 seconds!

The said video came from Redmi's Weibo account however the 300W claim fell short as it is really 290W for about three seconds before returning to a less powerful (but still blazing fast) charging speed - the 300W is a theoretical limit that the charger and battery can attain however the handset caps out for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, the adapter used double GaN technology with 50 plus safety protections and appears in a small form factor, Redmi stated. However, the brand did disclose when it will be available for commercial use.
