Stunning in white!

realme has just unveiled the new realme GT3. In front is a 144Hz 6.74-inch OLED screen with a 2772 x 1240 resolution and a 1400nits peak brightness. Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 3.1, and a 4,600mAh battery with 240W wired charging.

At the back are the triple rear cameras made up of a 50MP IMX890 primary camera, an 8MP 112-degree ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP microscope camera with an LED flash.

As of this article's writing, the official PH price and availability of the smartphone have yet to be announced.

Let's dive in!

Note: We received the realme GT3 without the retail packaging. We only received the phone, the 240W charging plug, and the USB charging cable.

Build Quality/Design

For the materials used, the realme GT3 is made of a combination of glass and metal. The front panel is made of glass while the rear panel is made of frosted glass. In between the two panels is the metal frame with a brushed metal texture that looks like aluminum.

The frosted rear panel and the brushed metal frame work together to make the phone less prone to fingerprints. The same combination makes it look and feel premium too. We still recommend wearing a case over it though.

Polished phone, slim bezels!

What we noticed after picking the phone up is the heft and weight of it.

There is no mention of an official IP rating but the sim tray has a yellow rubber gasket that shows signs of water resistance.

In front is the 6.74-inch OLED touch display with a 2772 x 1240 resolution, a 1400 nit peak brightness, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate.

On the upper part of the display is the punch hole that houses the front-facing camera. Around the panel are slim bezels with the bottom bezel being slightly thicker than the rest. Above the panel and within the top bezel is the super slim earpiece.

The glass panels are protected by the new Dragontrail Star 2.

On the left side of the phone are the two metal volume buttons while on the right is the metal power button. Both sets of hardware buttons have nice satisfying feedback when pressed.

It will come in either Pulse White or Booster Black.

The first shots from the rear camera are good. The images are sharp and contrasty but the colors aren't as accurate as we would like.

The same can be said with the selfie shots. It is detailed and the color's accuracy could be improved.

Even though these were shot with early hardware and software, we are excited to test the phone out more. We have never seen such polish from an early unit in a long time.

We will do more testing for the review so stay tuned.

As of the moment

Is it worth it?
Is it worth it?

Our main takeaway from the experience is that realme wanted to focus on the big "leap" in features. This includes the new 240W SUPERVOOC charging, Pulse Breathing LED light, and the DragonTrail Star2 protection.

realme made an interesting choice by selecting last generation's Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 but from what we've seen so far, the battery endurance of the phone is impressive considering the 4,600mAh capacity.

realme also took extra precautions by adding AI smart charging and the third-party TUV Rheinland Certification for the 200W charging and the battery. They also said that the battery is rated for 1,600 cycles which the company says is nearly twice as many charging cycles as most smartphone batteries.

According to realme, we can fully charge its entire capacity from 0 percent in just 9 minutes and 30 seconds in an ideal charging condition. But of course, we will be testing if that is accurate.

Lastly, the cameras were able to capture sharp and detailed images that are contrasty. We hope that the retail version improves the color accuracy.

Globally, the phone starts at USD 649 (around PHP 35.9K) which is fair for the number of features and specs.

What do you guys think?
