HUAWEI's feats in the past year

Ending 2022 with a bang, HUAWEI was able to generate CNY 642.3 billion (around PHP 5.1 trillion) in revenue, with a net profit margin of 5.5 percent.

How did HUAWEI achieve this? It’s by consistently pursuing its "1 + 8 + N" Seamless AI Life strategy. "1" represents mobile phones; "8" represents tablets, PCs, VR devices, wearables, smart screens, smart audio, smart speakers, and head units; and "N" represents IoT devices.

Supported by the HarmonyOS and HMS ecosystems, this strategy helps us deliver a Seamless AI Life experience to consumers across five major user scenarios: smart office, fitness & health, smart home, easy travel, and entertainment, HUAWEI said.

Through this strategy, the tech company total shipments of mobile phones in Q3 2022 alone reached 8.6 million, with a 48.3 percent year-over-year growth.

Aside from this, HUAWEI's foldable handsets ranked first in the Chinese market share in 2022, garnering 47.4 percent.

In terms of its wearable products, HUAWEI also topped the Chinese market in Q3 2022 with 24 percent of the market share. Shipments of its smartwatches reached 2.6 million in Q2 2022 alone, landing third worldwide.

By November 2022, the brand's health and fitness products have served more than 400 million users around the world.

The company also launched three new models under the HUAWEI Zhixuan model, namely AITO M5, M7, and M5 EV. More than 75,000 AITO units were delivered between March 2022, when formal delivery began, and the end of 2022, it noted.
Other achievements

HUAWEI also grew its number of devices equipped with HarmonyOS as it reached 330 million by November 2022.

The number of HarmonyOS Connect partners has reached over 2,300, and HarmonyOS Connect device shipments have exceeded 250 million. The HarmonyOS ecosystem has also attracted more than two million developers, and provided 50,000 HarmonyOS atomic services, it added.

By the end of 2022, the monthly active users of HUAWEI Mobile services exceeded 580 million. Active users of HUAWEI ID, AppGallery, and Quick App also breached 420 million, 580 million, and 170 million, respectively, the brand added.

At the same time, OpenHarmony ranked first on the Gitee Index and attracted more than 5,000 community code contributors.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI HiCar solution established partnerships with more than 40 mainstream carmakers.

We have also teamed up with over 20 automobile manufacturers to provide users with intelligent in-vehicle services through HMS for Car, covering more than 12 million vehicles. Our in-vehicle mapping services have also been launched outside China, HUAWEI added.

HUAWEI has been also working with over 208 universities and colleges in China, including the prestigious Tsinghua University to run wide-ranging HarmonyOS courses. Through this partnership, China's Ministry of Education has helped support 93 HarmonyOS ecosystem projects.

The Chinese brand also started 2023 with another success as it ranked 31st in the Global 500 2022 list of the world’s most valuable brands.

HUAWEI also remains committed to R&D as it ranked fourth in the 2022 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard.

In 2022, the tech brand allocated CNY 161.5 billion for R&D, which represents 25.1 percent of its total revenue.

HUAWEI has one of the largest patent portfolios in the world. In 2022, Huawei topped the list of applicants through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) with 7,689 patent applications for the sixth year in a row, 1.8 times that of the second place, it added.

HUAWEI ended 2022 with more than 60,000 retail and service stores, display zones, and display counters worldwide, including over 5,500 experience stores and more than 2,200 authorized service centers.

Aside from this, HUAWEI has also built 14 Flagship Stores globally, and more than 300 HUAWEI Smart Life Stores with an area of more than 500 square meters in 2022.
