POCO F5 announced in PH: Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED, starts at PHP 18,499!

The vanilla POCO F5 officially arrives in the Philippines with a starting early bird price of PHP 18,499.

The smartphone was accidentally revealed on the UAE Mi website last night giving us nearly full details except the price.

Anyways, POCO F5 is the equivalent of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo that was announced in China.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2

It highlights the new mid-range chip Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 clocked at 2.9GHz and has 4nm fabrication. Meanwhile, it has an unspecified Adreno GPU which Qualcomm claim will provide 2x graphical performance versus its predecessor.

In terms of design, it comes with a sleek and modern boxy shape with three camera islands at the back. At the front, you'll see slim bezels on all four sides and a centered dot punch hole.

The phone's display

The screen uses 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED with FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, 1920Hz PWM dimming, SGS Low Blue light rating, up to 1000 nits max brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Inside, it has choices for 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For battery, it has a 5,000mAh capacity and charges using USB-C and 67W fast-charging brick.

In the camera department, it uses 64MP primary shooter with f/1.79 aperture and OIS for stabilized shots + 8MP ultra-wide f/2.2 + 2MP macro f/2.4.

Other features mentioned are the side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm audio jack, IP-53 splashproof protection, dual speakers, X-axis linear vibration motor, and Liquid Cool Technology 2.0.

For connectivity, it has 5G, 4G, and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, IR Blaster, and dual SIM (nano) support.

For OS, the phone runs Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top.
