ROG Ally is now official!

To recap, the ROG Ally is ASUS' answer to compete with the Steam Deck.

It boasts a white body featuring the 4-directional buttons, 2 joysticks, Xbox layout keys, and R1, R2, L1, and L2 buttons.

You will also notice two firing speakers at the front as well as the 7-inch LCD (IPS) panel with FHD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. The display also has 500 nits of max brightness, 7ms response time, 100 percent sRGB color space, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Inside, the handheld is powered by either of the custom Ryzen Z1 and Z1 Extreme chipsets.

The base Z1 has 6-core 12-threads Zen 4 CPUs with four RDNA 3 integrated graphics. On the other hand, the Z1 Extreme has 8-core 16-threads coupled with 12 RDNA 3 GPUs with 24MB cache.

If those graphical units are not enough you may partner it with the ROG XG Mobile equipped with RTX 4090 laptop GPU.

As for memory configurations, the handheld has 16GB LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM and choices of 256GB/512GB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD of the 2230 size.

For battery, it comes with a 40WHr size with two-hour playtime in heavy AAA titles and runs at 15W TDP. You may charge the device using the 65W PD when you ran out of juice on the go.

Other features mentioned were the dual-firing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and Hi-Res audio, dual fans, and copper heat pipe to keep the temperatures in check.

For ports, the ROG Ally has USB-C 3.2 Gen2, a port for eGPU, a microSD card slot, and a headphone/mic combo jack. For a wireless connection, it has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 instead.

For OS, it runs Windows 11 with a special edition of ASUS Armoury Crate on top. This will also let you get Xbox Game Pass with a 3-month trial upon purchase.

US price with direct-to-PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

ROG Ally Ryzen Z1 - USD 600 (around 33.5K)
ROG Ally Ryzen Z1 Extreme - USD 700 (around 39.1K)

The Extreme Edition is now available to pre-order at the ASUS website while open sales begin next month in the US. The base variant will be available in the 3rd Quarter of 2023 instead.
