No more ad blockers soon?

A Redditor first found out recently this week that, when you're using the streaming platform, there will be a pop-up notification that will say "Ad blockers are now allowed on YouTube".

Streaming of videos was prohibited unless the user enabled YouTube adverts or subscribed to YouTube Premium, a paid membership service that enables users to see videos on YouTube without being interrupted by advertisements.

This is new for the online streaming giant as YouTube never made a move against ad blockers for several years. Meanwhile, the notification continued that "Ads permitted YouTube to stay free for billions of users worldwide".

The r/YouTube moderation team confirmed they received a message from a YouTube staff about this and that the blocking adblockers is only an "experiment".

It's not hard to understand why Google or AKA YouTube is doing this as the Ad blockers take away the income they needed from videos which then pays for the perpetually increasing storage and bandwidth needs of a particular video. However, user frustration is evident as well.

What do you guys think about this? Will the move from YouTube be enough for you to get that subscription?
