Nokia G42 launched!

It's not the first time with Nokia, as we've already seen it with the G22 model. However, this will be the first for its 5G category. The kit comes with repair guides, OEM parts like display, batteries, and charging ports for the G42 for five years going forward.

The features

The materials used for the rear cover of G42 come from recycled plastic. It still has that simple look with plain colors of either Black or the more elegant Purple.

When it comes to display, it has a 6.56-inch LCD (IPS) with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Inside, it uses the 8nm 2.2GHz Snapdragon 480+ octa-core chip with Adreno 619 GPU. It is paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage, 5,000mAh with 20W fast charging. HMD claims it will last under average use. They said that it will retain 80 percent battery health after 800 charging cycles.

For cameras, it has a 50MP primary sensor coupled with 2MP macro and 2MP depth.

Other features mentioned are the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, and IP52 certification.

Connectivity-wise, it has 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

For software, the phone runs Android 13 with HMD committing to two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.

Euro price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

Display repair component - EUR 50 (around PHP 3K)
Battery repair component - EUR 25 (around PHP 1.5K)
Charging port repair component - EUR 20 (around PHP 1.2K)
Nokia G42 6GB/128GB - starts at  EUR 249 (around PHP 15K)
