Redmi Note 12R launched: first phone with SD4G2, 90Hz display, 50MP camera!

Redmi released the first smartphone to feature the recently announced Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor.

The first phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2!

To start, the Note 12R bears a lot of similarities with the Redmi 12 except for the 5G SoC.

As the main highlight, it features the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 octa-core chipset with energy efficient 4nm design and up to 2.2GHz max boost clock. It comes with an unspecified Adreno GPU but it may not be far from the Adreno 619 found on the SD4G1.

The features

Moving forward, the phone uses a 6.79-inch LCD (IPS) punch-hole display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The new chip is paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage.

For battery, the phone has a 5,000mAh size and comes with an 18W fast wired charging adaptor.

The three colors

On the camera side, it uses 50MP main sensor coupled with 2MP depth. While for selfies, it uses 5MP instead.

There are some details that are missing but it seems to feature 5G, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 13 MIUI 14 skin overlay.

China price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

4GB/128GB - CNY 999 (around PHP 7.6K)

6GB/128GB - CNY 1,099 (around PHP 8.3K)

8GB/128GB - CNY 1,499 (around PHP 11.4K)

8GB/256GB - CNY 1,799 (around PHP 13.7K)

The device is currently available in China however, it's not clear yet whether it will be available in other markets.
