At PHP 7,999 (limited intro price of PHP 6,999), realme boasts that it could be the handset to get for those in need of a premium-looking handset with fast charging solution and a capable camera without breaking the bank.

In case you are looking for a handset with such features

realme C53 is the newest style, camera, and charging budget wonder in town, here's why:

1. Slim and trendy profile - Measuring just 165.6 x 75.9 x 7.9 mm, the realme C53 is one of the slimmest if not the slimmest in its class. At 189.5 grams, it has enough heft but is not too heavy, just right.

What's even more impressive is realme was able to squeeze a large 5,000mAh battery that could last for an entire day on a single charge on a phone this slim.

Moreover, the handset is sporting a "trendy" look. Behind, there is no denying that it is inspired by Apple iPhone's design. But, it has a different finish in a glittery starry-like Mighty Black colorway and Champion Gold with Gold Filament Gradient Coating Process.

Some may think that it is a "cheap" iPhone copy and they are entitled to their opinion. But, at PHP 6,999-7,999, this feels good in the eyes. It is not prone to fingerprint smudges as well.

In front, it is using a large 6.74-inch display with slim side bezels and top bezels. The chin bezel is a bit thick, but again this is not bad for a budget device.

Of course, there is a Mini Capsule found on the top-notch that you will see when charging percentage and when it is fully charged. This is a little similar to the dynamic island of Apple.

2. 50MP camera on budget - Not many are equipped with a 50MP camera at this price point. Yes, there are some affordable phones with 50MPs, but not all of them are created equal.
Solid 3x zoom
Solid 3x zoom

The one found on the realme C53 is a pretty good one, especially at this price point. Its focus is speedy, the shutter is fast, and it takes great images for the price. It has a respectable dynamic range, zoom is usable up to 3x, and colors are surprisingly rich even indoors with artificial lighting. Details are surprisingly crisp even in low light with the help of its Night mode.

In fact, it is even loaded with plenty of modes like Portrait (f/0.95 to f/16), Beauty with different settings, Pro, and more.

3. 33W SUPERVOOC for less - Having a reliable fast-charging solution on a budget is a huge plus for those that are always in a rush. The realme C53 is one of them.

In particular, it is using a USB-C 33W SUEPRVOOC solution. This is OPPO's proprietary fast charging that can quickly charge the device its 5,000mAh battery capacity from 0 to 50 percent in just 31 minutes. If 0 to 100 percent, you will need around 1 hour and 20-30 mins.

Other key features of the handset include its use of the usable 1.82GHz 12nm UNISOC T612 octa-core processor with Mali-G57, 6GB RAM, and 6GB virtual RAM for a total of 12GB Dynamic RAM. In our experience, this combination made the device reasonably fast and mostly usable.

It even has ample 128GB expandable via microSD card slot up to 2TB, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, UltraBoom Speaker that can increase its sound up to 150 percent, and Android 13 OS with realme UI T Edition.

Quick thoughts

Overall, the realme C53 appears to be a neat choice for those on a tight budget but in need of a sleek design, pretty good cameras, and a safe and reliable fast-charging solution.

So far, we think that it is decent at PHP 7,999 for its target market and quite good for its PHP 6,999 promo price until June 30.

What do you guys think?
