DJI Osmo Action 4 Launched: larger sensor, 18-meter caseless waterproof rating, fast charging
DJI has introduced the Osmo Action 4 action camera with a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, an 18-meter caseless waterproof rating, and fast charging.

Next-generation Action Camera
In under a year of introducing the DJI Osmo Action 3, the Chinese manufacturer has unveiled the 4th generation of its Action camera line.
It features a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor than the Action 3's 1/1.7-inch sensor. This has increased the pixel size from 1.6 micrometers to 2.4 micrometers. It does retain the previous generation's lens with 155 degrees of Field of View and f/2.8 aperture.

The Action 4 can record up to 4K at 120fps with up to 130Mbps. You can also record in 10-bit D-Log M format for the highest-quality footage. It saves the footage into a microSD card (up to 512GB). It supports RockSteady 3.0 plus and 360-degree HorizonSteady. It also records gyroscope data which users can use for stabilizing the footage when post-processing.
It features a color temperature sensor that automatically adapts to changing lighting conditions. There are three mics around the camera and users can plug an external microphone with the 3.5mm to USB-C adapter.
The battery is rated for up to 2.5 hours of record time even in extreme conditions of -20 degrees Celsius. It supports fast charging and can get up to 80 percent charge in 18 minutes.
The body can survive a dive down to 18 meters underwater without an external case. DJI offers an external case that can go down even deeper to 60 meters.
DJI has removed the GPS receiver but has introduced a GPS Bluetooth remote controller.
In front is the 1.4-inch 320 x 320 touch screen while at the back is the larger 2.25-inch 640 x 360 rear touch screen.

It is now available for purchase in the United States. There is no word yet on Philippine availability and pricing.
Update: At Henry's Cameras, the DJI Osmo Action 4 Standard is priced at PHP 22,890. Meanwhile, the Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo retails for PHP 28,890.
