Will Filipino subscribers be affected?

MobileSyrup reported that Disney said it will implement the crackdown on password sharing in Canada.

The move along with other new terms was announced through an email to its subscribers. Disney noted that it will be "implementing restrictions on account sharing."

Unless otherwise permitted by your Service Tier, you may not share your subscription outside of your household, Disney said.

It defined "Household" as the collection of devices associated with the user’s primary personal residence that are used by the individuals who reside therein.

We may, in our sole discretion, analyze the use of your account to determine compliance with this Agreement. If we determine that you have violated this Agreement, we may limit or terminate access to the Service and/or take any other steps as permitted by this Agreement, it warned.

This policy will be implemented starting November 1, affecting subscribers in Canada except for annual subscribers in Quebec, “for whom the updated Subscriber Agreement will be effective on their next billing date, on or after November 1st, 2023,” Disney noted.

This will coincide with the launch of Disney’s ad-supported membership in Canada in November.

The question is, are Filipino subscribers affected?

PhilSTAR L!fe confirmed with the public relations agency of Disney+ Philippines that the policy will not take effect in the country.

What do you think about this?
