The ultimate durability test

According to an article by Huawei Central, a Chinese YouTube recently conducted a severe test on the HUAWEIMate 60 Pro. Different objects were used, namely a car, a bus, a road roller, and a gun.

He used two new units of the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro in his experiment.

Do note that this device has second-generation Kunlun Glass protection.

Kunlun Glass is a nano microcrystalline glass made by growing 10 quadrillion-level strong nanocrystals in glass, significantly improving the glass’s strength, HUAWEI said.

Furthermore, HUAWEI noted that this material is "rock-solid" and "10 times more resistant to falling."

HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro also features a three-layer design with an IP68 rating.

In the car test, the Mate 60 Pro was driven over by an AITO M7 SUV that weighs over 2,300 kg. The phone remained scratch-free front and back and was even functioning.

For the bus test, a 50-seater passenger bus was used that weighed 16 tons or 16,000 kg. While it showed no sign of external damage, it became unresponsive, and the screen blacked out.

Mate 60 Pro faced its ultimate challenge with the road roller. Weighing 22 tons or 22,000 kg, the device crushed after being rolled over.

Still, the phone’s display, while scattered, and the rear panel remain connected to the frame. The camera received major damage, but the back side of the phone only had minor damage.

For the fourth test, a Beretta Type 97 semi-automatic pistol with .22 caliber bullets was used. The first shot aimed at the phone’s bottom damaged the battery’s lithium. The second one in the middle absorbed the bullet near the display. The third also made a hole in the phone.
