Yesterday, Apple started the rollout of its new operating systems for iPhones, tablets, and smartwatches. Today we will tackle the features of iPadOS 17.

Based on Apple's statements the new OS for the tablet brings new levels of personalization and versatility.

Users can now customize the Lockscreen with beautiful wallpapers, new ways to showcase their favorite photos, and expressive fonts and colors to modify the look of date and time. Interactive widgets take glanceable information a step further by allowing users to complete tasks in the moment with a single tap, directly from the Lock Screen or Home Screen.

Messages enhance search and give users additional methods to express themselves, such as a sticker experience with new emoji stickers and the option to create Live Stickers by pulling subjects from images.

When using Facetime and someone doesn't answer the call, users can just leave an audio or video message and activate replies with simple gestures. Using the Continuity Camera can allow the camera and microphone on the iPad to initiate video chat directly from Apple TV, or start a connection on the iPad and then transfer it to Apple TV.

It is now easier than ever to work with PDFs on the iPad. AutoFill, which will be available later this year, points out and fills fields in forms, allowing users to rapidly add details such as names, addresses, and emails from Contacts.
The health app

The Health app has been optimized for the larger display on the iPad. HealthKit allows developers to create unique health and fitness experiences that use data that users want to give while adhering to strict privacy and data security requirements.

For multitasking, the Stage Manager adds further flexibility to the placement of windows and offers the ability to use an external display camera for FaceTime or video calls.

Users can utilize Safari Profiles to keep their browsing separate between topics such as professional and personal. The keyboard adds new drawing tools and Follow Along to lead collaborators around the board, while Freeform gets new drawing tools and Follow Along to guide collaborators around the board.
