Watch: TECNO POVA 5 Pro 5G Review - Just PHP 10,999?

TECNO recently introduced the POVA 5 Pro 5G in the Philippines for just PHP 10,999.

At its price point, it is definitely one of the strongest for the price.

In particular, the handset highlights a cool-looking 3D Mecha Design for gamers with the Turbo Stripes light strip and 9-color RGB interactive design. It is a breathing LED light for incoming calls, startup, notification, charging, games, music, or low battery. According to TECNO, every mode has its unique lighting pattern.

The company also added an NCVM coating for a metallic luster and low electric conductivity available in Dark Illusion Silver Fantasy colorways to make the device even more attractive.

Attractive design, highly capable specs for the price!

For the specs, the device uses a 6.78-inch LCD (IPS) screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ 2460 x 1080 resolution at 391 ppi, and 580 nits peak.

It is also using a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 8GB RAM, 8GB Extended RAM (total of 16GB), 256GB internal storage, and a smaller 5,000mAh battery but with a faster USB-C 68W Ultra Charge tech with Bypass Charge tech that can charge the device from 0 to 50 percent in 15 minutes.

To keep its performance in check, TECNO added a Dual Heat Dissipation system for gaming with a large 2,820mm² vapor chamber and 12,979mm² dissipation area.

For cameras, it uses a 50MP main shooter and a 16MP selfie camera at the back.

The device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers (dual speakers), Hi-Res Audio Wired/Wireless, DTS Audio, and Z-axis linear motor. It runs with Android 13 OS with HiOS 13 skin.

Verdict

An edgy back design that even gamers will like

The competition is tough out there, but the TECNO POVA 5 Pro 5G managed to stand out for its official price of just PHP 10,999.

I think it’s a solid device that won't break your wallet too much. It'll give you a 5G-ready performance, 120Hz smooth display, 68W fast charging with bypass charge, capable cameras, dual stereo speakers, custom FREE FIRE theme, and of course, not to miss the RGB LED strip design that adds a bit more flare to it. 

This phone is easy to recommend for those on a tight budget even if you are a bit of a heavy user and you prefer a large phone.
