The OnePlus Open

OnePlus's first foldable phone is now official!

The new fold came in a familiar iconic look of OnePlus in its Green (glass) and Black (leather) colorway and a large circular camera bump at the back.

Again it comes with two displays, the cover screen uses a 6.31-inch FHD+ OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a ceramic guard. The main screen comes with a 7.82-inch 2K 2440 x 2268 LTPO AMOLED with 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2,800 nits of peak brightness, and Ultra-Thin Glas (UTG).

Both panels support Pro XDR and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The main screen is also rated with up to 1 million folds by TUV Rheinland, ensuring users that it can last for a while.
Durable hinge!
Durable hinge!

OnePlus also explained the material used in the fold to achieve a lightweight and slim body. They used a cobalt molybdenum alloy and titanium alloy which makes it more durable and lighter versus the 316L surgical grade stainless steel you see around in other foldable brands. Its hinge spine plate is made out of zirconium-based amorphous alloy 2x stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel and provides good wear and scratch resistance.

To make the phone light in weight, OnePlus utilized a Flexion hinge, featuring a water-drop shape in which the brand was able to reduce the number of hinge materials from around 100 to 69. If unfolded, the phone is 5.8mm thin only and when you fold it, it becomes 11.7mm. The glass back version weighs at 245 grams while the leather back variant weighs 239 grams.
