As a treat to its fans this Christmas, Nokia Mobile on Facebook shared that the Nokia G42 5G will receive a PHP 3K price cut.

From its original SRP of PHP 11,990, the device is down to just PHP 8,990 making it one of the few phones in the country with 5G connectivity at this price point.

To recap, the Nokia G42 5G is marketed as a phone in partnership with iFixit suggesting that it is easy to repair and replaceable parts. It is said to come with a repair guide and a durable rear cover made from recycled plastic.

For specs, the handset is decent for the price.

In front, it uses a Gorilla Glass 3-protected LCD (IPS) 6.56-inch HD+ screen with a notch for the 8MP selfie camera.

Inside, it uses the 2.2GHz 8nm Snapdragon 480+ 5G octa-core processor with Adreno 619 GPU.

It is also paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage in the Philippines.

The device also has a large 5,000mAh battery capacity with USB-C 20W fast charging tech.

The other highlight of the handset is its primary camera as it uses a fairly large 50MP main shooter with f/1.8 aperture size. It is assisted by a 2MP macro shooter and another 2MP depth camera.

Of course, it has 5G connectivity that you can use to enjoy faster mobile data speeds than 4G in areas with 5G.

The handset runs with Android 13 OS out of the box with up to 2 major OS upgrades and up to 3 years of monthly security updates.
