Samsung S24 Series launched in PH: Exynos 2400 or SD8G3, Galaxy AI, and up to 200MP main cam, starts at PHP 53,990!

Samsung today has unveiled the Galaxy S24 series featuring a new processor, and a focus on AI and sustainability.

Nothing much has changed in terms of design, the S24 series retains a minimalist look however you will see multiple color options such as Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow. There are also online exclusive colors such as Jade Green, Sandstone Orange, and Sapphire Blue but do keep in mind it may depend on the country.

Samsung claims these devices are made of 50 percent recycled cobalt on the battery, 100 percent recycled earth elements, and 40 percent recycled steel in the speakers. As for packaging is 100 percent recycled paper material

The S24 and S24+

For display, the regular S24 uses a 6.2-inch FHD+ screen, the S24+ gets 6.7-inch QHD+ while the S24 Ultra gets 6.8-inch QHD+ resolution. All three models use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with LTPO 1-120Hz refresh rate and Vision booster. 

The only difference will be the exclusive Corning Gorilla Glass Armor protection for the Ultra variant which should bring tougher glass and can survive scratches and drops based on the brand's claims

Inside, the S24 and S4+ feature the new Exynos 2400 10-core chip with 3.2GHz max boost clock, Samsung Xlipse 940 GPU with AMD RDNA 3 architecture, Ray Tracing, and variable rate shading.

S24 Ultra

The S24 Ultra gets the 3.4GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 octa-core CPU with New Adreno GPU.

In terms of memory configurations, there will be 8GB/12GB RAM 256GB/512GB, and 1TB of internal storage.

For battery, the S24 gets 4,000mAh, the S24+ receives 4,900mAh while the S24 Ultra gets 5,000mAh. As for charging speeds, the regular variant gets a 25W adapter while the Plus and Ultra models receive faster 45W charging bricks. Furthermore, all three support wireless charging.

For cameras, the S24 and S24+ feature similar sensors namely 50MP f1/.8 OIS main cam, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter, 10MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom.

Can shoot clear photos from afar!

The S24 Ultra features a 200MP f/1.7 main camera with OIS, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide + 50MP f/4.3 telephoto with 5x optical zoom, and an OIS + 10MP f/2.4 telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.

For selfies, all models are equipped with 12MP front-facing shooters.

All three also feature an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Software and AI highlights

The Galaxy S24 series receives Galaxy AI, which includes Live Translate, two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls within the native app, an Interpreter function, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and gesture-driven Circle to Search.

Connectivity features are 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E (2.4GHz/5GHz) for S24/S24+ and WiFi 7 for S24 Ultra.

For OS, the three phones run Android 14 with One UI 6.1.
