Today, Samsung officially launched two of its Galaxy A-series known as the A35 5G and A55 5G.
Both smartphones appeared in identical looks. Honestly, Samsung barely changed the design and only replaced the available color options which are Ice Blue, Navy, and Lilac.
You can notice the difference in the frames as the A55 5G uses a metal material while the A35 5G has a plastic one.
At the front, both have a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rates.
Inside, the A35 5G gets the 2.4GHz 5nm Exynos 1380 octa-core chipset with Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. On the other hand, the Galaxy A55 has the higher 2.75GHz 4nm Exynos 1480 octa-core processor with AMD Xclipse 530 GPU.
For battery, both also have a 5,000mAh capacity that charges using USB-C and a 25W power brick.
In the camera department, both have a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with PDAF and OIS and has 5MP macro helper. They only differ in the ultra-wide sensor unit as the A55 5G gets 12MP while the A35 gets 8MP instead.
For selfies, the higher variant A55 has a 32MP shooter while the lower model A35 gets toned down to 13MP.
Other features mentioned are the In-Display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and the IP67 Water and Dust resistance rating.
Another highlight here is that Samsung has brought some of its Galaxy AI features in the new A-series.
The brand noted users' studio, video editor, eraser tools, and remaster tools. Users can also utilize the "Single Take" AI capture wherein it shoots 14 kinds of photos and videos from 3-10 seconds then effectively recommends the best results for easier selection when posting on social media.
Samsung notes it is a vlogger-friendly device with its "Dual Recording Mode" which lets you capture both selfies and rear cameras. Furthermore, users can take the phones in the pool with their IP67 water resistance rating. But of course, you cannot prolong it on the water.
Connectivity features are 5G, 4G, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC and dual SIM.
For OS, the phones run Android 14 with Samsung One UI 6.1 skin on top.
