GCash issues warning against unlicensed gaming sites for using its brand and logo

The country's leading Finance Super App GCash earlier issued an advisory against unlicensed gaming sites for using its brand and logo.

In a statement, GCash warned the public to be wary of unverified SMS and marketing materials as well as promos or links from unlicensed gaming platforms.

GCash claimed that they never share nor sell data, approve, or endorse those activities as they could expose personal information that may lead to phishing, violation of data privacy, and other cybersecurity threats.

The company also stressed that they have no association with these operations.

The company noted that the public must avoid these platforms to prevent such unwanted things.

GCash added that those who continue to promote fake news, apps, and ads will be dealt with to the "full extent" of the law and those using the GCash brand will also be held accountable.

Some of the brands GCash mentioned that they are not associated with are T1Bet, Jackpot City, and PhilWin, among others.
