Canalys: Here are the top 5 global smartphone vendor for Q1 2024!

Renowned smartphone research company Canalys has posted the five leading smartphone makers based on their shipments in Q1 2024.

The global smartphone market experienced 1st double-digit growth in 10 quarters!

Research firm Canalys says the worldwide smartphone market increased by 10 percent year-on-year growth during the 1st quarter of  2024.

This translates to 296.2 million smartphones shipped globally this year. Canalys mentioned that the market exceeded expectations with the first double-digit growth after 10 challenging quarters.

Canalys added the surge was mostly caused by suppliers releasing new products and macroeconomic stability in emerging market economies.

Meanwhile, Samsung claimed back its top spot for this quarter by providing 60M units shipped worldwide, boosted by updates to its A-series and early premium products. Specifically, the S24 series aided Samsung by bringing 13.5M units shipped during the same quarter which is equivalent to 35 percent growth against last year.

Apple fell to second place, delivering 48.7 million units, as it saw a double-digit drop amid challenges in its main markets.

On the other hand, Xiaomi remained in 3rd spot with 40.7M shipments and 14 percent market share.

TRANSSION Group and OPPO completed the top five in rankings with 28.6M and 25M units shipped, respectively while also securing 10 percent and 8 percent market share.
