Two of the biggest technology firms in America are in talks for a possible partnership on artificial intelligence (AI), according to a report.
Based on the Wall Street Journal report released over the weekend, Apple was in discussion with Meta about integrating the Facebook parent firm’s generative AI into its products.
This came following a report that Apple also inked a deal with the creator of ChatGPT Open A1 to boost its system and products with AI features.
This just proves that Apple has been ramping up its efforts to roll out new AI features.
According to an earlier news report, Apple Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi bared that Apple was targeting to integrate capabilities from Google’s generative AI system, Gemini, into its devices.
Just this month, American billionaire Elon Musk, who owns X, Tesla, and SpaceX, threatened to ban Apple devices at his companies after the latter revealed its plan to integrate OpenAI’s technology into its iPhones. Once up, when users speak to Siri, they will be allowed to hand off some questions to ChatGPT, openAI’s language model.
He said the move would be considered an “unacceptable security violation.”
