Prepaid to eSIM upgrade service from Globe
Telco giant Globe has announced that it is set to launch a new service allowing its prepaid customers to upgrade from a physical SIM to eSIM and retain their current number. The company said this is in line with its commitment to innovation and response to evolving market needs.
This new offer is part of our drive for wider adoption of eSIM. We're not just keeping up with the digital needs of our customers, we're propelling them into the future of connectivity, said Givielle Florida, Head of Globe Prepaid.
The upgrade service is available for prepaid customers via GlobeOne. The app features an eSIM-compatibility check to ensure users' devices are ready for the upgrade. It also offers seamless download and installation once purchased.
The upgrade costs PHP 99.
If you are a Globe prepaid user, here’s how you can upgrade your physical SIM:
- Go to the GlobeOne app
- Click on SIM Hub, then go to Change SIM, then go to eSIM
- Follow the on-screen instructions on your device
- Install the eSIM by scanning the QR code from your email and enjoy your new eSIM with the same mobile number.
This follows the introduction of eSIMs for Globe prepaid subscribers earlier this year, the telco said.
You can download the GlobeOne app at
