IDC: Infinix top spot for PH market share in Q2 2024

According to research firm IDC, Infinix clinches the no.1 ranking in PH market share.

Infinix ranks no.1 smartphone brand in the Philippines (Q2 2024)

Based on Infinix's official Facebook post, the brand has achieved a 16.1 percent total market share.

IDC's upcoming data indicates that Infinix has experienced positive year-over-year growth for five quarters, especially from Q2 2023 to Q2 2024. You may refer to the Infinix bar graph in the image below.

Although the growth was low-key in three straight quarters, the company's success soared in 2024's second quarter, largely attributed to the Infinix GT 20 Pro gaming phone.

To recall, the device boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080, 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 2340Hz PWM dimming. Additionally, it incorporates the Pixel X5 Turbo gaming display chip to ensure supported games run at a stable 120 fps.

Powering the unit is the trusty 3.0GHz 4nm Dimensity 8200 Ultimate octa-core processor, coupled with a Mali-G610 GPU, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, an additional 12GB of virtual RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It's also equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and Bypass charging technology.

The camera array includes a 108MP f/1.75 HM6 main sensor, a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens, a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, and a circular LED flash. It also boasts a 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

Additional features include an IP54 rating for water and splash resistance, JBL stereo speakers, and large VC cooling technology to keep the phone cool while running games.

Connectivity options comprise 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, GPS, NFC, and dual SIM support.

The operating system is Android 14, enhanced with the XOS for GT interface.

Finally, the device is the official tournament phone for the MPL Philippines Season 14. It also provides value-for-money features that may appeal to the mobile gaming masses which likely contributed to a sudden boost in sales.
