TECNO Phantom V Flip 2 launched: Bigger cover screen, useful AI, 70W Ultra Charge

TECNO has announced the Phantom V Flip 2 as the successor to the Phantom V Flip.

The new flip foldable features a bigger cover screen now having a 3.64-inch square panel. This is twice larger than the predecessor's 1.32. Another worth mentioning is the higher resolution at 1056 x 1056 and 413 ppi to deliver more HD images in folded state.

TECNO also highlights the cover display will have 2K+ support on apps to provide a quality-of-life experience for its users. Just like the previous version, it can display interactive pets, play music, and now even games.

The device doesn't support card-style functionality in favor of a so-called desktop application center, allowing users to activate multiple apps without the need for "inefficient sliding". Additionally, the display accommodates a full keyboard for both dialing and typing.

Once you unfold the device, it will transform into a larger 120Hz 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel and has FHD+ resolution.

Moving forward, the Phantom V Flip 2 comes with a standout design, particularly on the Travertine Green. TECNO explained the use of Shimmering Sand Etch Crafted Design which produces intricate details of "twinkling stars and shines like a sunlit frost".

TECNO also updated the hinge with the double helical star-track drop hinge. This allows the phone to survive up to 400,00 room temp folds, 150,000 high-temp folds, and 100,000 low-temp folds.

Anyways, the device weighs around 200 grams and measures 7.6mm when unfolded and 16mm when folded.

Inside, it has the phone features a 2.6GHz 6nm Dimensity 8020 with Mali-G77 MP9 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage.

Another upgrade is the battery which is now at 4,700mAh and comes with a faster 70W Ultra Charge.

For cameras, the phone uses a 50MP 1/1.57-inch main shooter + 50M ultra-wide and 32MP with AF on selfies.

The Phantom V Flip2 includes all the AI capabilities, such as AI Translation, AI Writing, and the voice assistant Ella, among others. All of which are powered by Google's Gemini.

Moreover, TECNO added the AI Artboard and AI WallPaper for creative tools. It also now features the Magic AI Eraser to remove unwanted photobombers on your shots.

Connectivity-wise the phone supports 5G, 4G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS.

For OS, the Phantom V Flip 2 runs Android 14 out of the box.
