TECNO Phantom V Fold2 launched: Thinner design, durable build, improved AI

Apart from the Phantom V Flip 2, TECNO also announced the Phantom V Fold2.

The new fold retains some key aspects from its predecessor like the 4nm Dimensity 9000+ 7.85-inch inner screen and 6.42-inch cover panel.

The difference is that the body becomes thinner at 6.1mm in the unfolded state and 12mm in the folded state. TECNO also reduced its weight from 300 grams down to 249 grams which is significant since it has a larger battery.

Ideal for portable productivity

Another upgrade is the durability with its Aerospace-Grade Hinge which can survive 400,000 folds. The phone also uses a combination of layered fiberglass, high-strength aluminum, and Titanium Alloy for the main body,

Inside, it will have the 12GB RAM + 12GB extended RAM and 512GB storage. The battery has 5,750mAh capacity 70W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

Dual screen

For cameras, the Phantom V Fold2 has a 50MP main wide camera + 50MP ultra-wide + 50MP portrait shooter.

It also has 32MP + 32MP front-facing cameras for selfies.

TECNO also highlighted AI features such as the Ella AI assistant, AI Summary, AI Translation, and AI Writing.

It also has an AI Artboard to utilize big screens, and an AI Wallpaper for customizing themes in a simple text prompt. The phone also uses AI in boosting Universal Tone Technology which precisely takes the appropriate skin tones in photos.

Connectivity-wise, the phone has 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC and dual SIM.

For OS, the Phantom V Fold2 runs Android 14 out of the box.
