A promising foldable competitor

The report noted that Apple will exclusively get OLED panels from Samsung Display, which shows the South Korean firm's technological edge in minimizing screen creases. It is also the company's strategy to drive down costs while maintaining high quality.

It is expected to feature a 7.8-inch OLED panel for the inner display with a ratio similar to an iPad mini and a 5.5-inch OLED panel for the external display.

A recent leak from "Digital Chat Station" also said that its internal display is 7.76 inches diagonally, in particular with a resolution of 2713 x 1920 pixels. Meanwhile, the cover screen is 5.49 inches big with 2088 x 1442 resolution at 460 ppi. The leaker said that Apple will also use an under-screen camera tech for a more seamless large-screen experience.

The foldable iPhone is expected to retail between USD 2,100 and USD 2,300. At that price point, it will directly compete with the Galaxy Z Fold line.
