COMPUTEX 2025: Acer Predator Helios 18 AI with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, and Intel Core Ultra 9 spotted

An upgraded variant of the Predator Helios 18 AI with the more powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 was spotted at the Acer Booth at COMPUTEX 2025.

Initially introduced on January 7, 2025, in Las Vegas, the original Predator Helios 18 AI (PH18-73-90A6) comes in a rectangular body with sharp corners and an L-shaped RGB strip on the laptops anterior side.

comes with a 2.70GHz Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores and 24 threads. Integrated with it is the NPU, which is advertised to deliver 13 TOPS. It is paired with a 175W GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 dedicated graphics memory. Alongside are 32GB DDR5 SDRAM, an M.2 1TB PCIe NVME 5.0 SSD, and a 99Wh Battery. 

The internals are cooled with the new 6th Generation AeroBlade 3D metal fans with the world's thinnest 0.051 mm fan blades, which increase airflow by 20 percent compared to plastic fans. It uses liquid metal thermal paste and vector heat pipes to keep the laptop cool under heavy loads during intense gaming sessions or AI computations.

It is capable of supporting up to 192GB of RAM and 6TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage.

It has an 18-inch WQXGA Mini LED display with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, a 250Hz refresh rate, and up to 1000 nits brightness. It supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and Advanced Optimus.

The laptop has an RGB-backlit keyboard with the new MagKey 4.0 mechanical switches for the WASD and Arrow keys. It offers a 0.3mm key travel for faster and more precise input.

Below the keyboard is the Microsoft Precision Touchpad.

Is it slim enough?

Connectivity-wise, it comes with IEEE 80.211be Wireless LAN Standard, Killer 1750x LAN model, 5 Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.4. On the sides of the laptop are one HDMI port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C port.

The laptop measures 1.16 x 15.8 x 12.1 inches and weighs 7.72 pounds.

There is no word yet on the pricing of the new RTX 5090 variant of the Acer Predator Helios 18 AI. However, the RTX 5080 variant is priced at USD 2,999.99 (around PHP 167K). We can assume that the new variant will be even pricier.
