A more advanced premium wearable

The new wearable brings refined design, improved health monitoring, and usability. It also features the brand's new X-Tap sensor, a multi-sensing module designed to simplify health tracking and enable quicker interactions.

Both watches design incorporates premium materials, including spherical sapphire glass and a combination of aerospace-grade titanium, 904L stainless steel, and 316L stainless steel, available across different color options and strap choices.

The Watch 5 comes in two sizes: a 46mm model with a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display and a 42mm version with a 1.38-inch screen. Both displays offer a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels.

A key upgrade is the introduction of the X-Tap sensor, positioned on the side of the watch. This compact module integrates an ECG sensor, a PPG sensor, and a 10-level tactile sensor.
Available in 42mm and 46mm

HUAWEI claims, it allows real-time fingertip blood oxygen (SpO2) measurements in approximately 10 seconds and can perform a “Health Glance” scan, generating a summary of 11 health metrics in under a minute. The company states that fingertip pulse wave signals, used by the X-Tap sensor, provide greater accuracy and responsiveness compared to traditional bottom-mounted sensors.

The Watch 5 also includes gesture recognition, powered by a dedicated neural processing unit. Users can control calls, music playback, alarms, and the remote camera shutter by double-tapping or sliding their thumb and index finger. These gesture-based features are optimized when paired with Huawei smartphones. Additionally, the watch offers over 100 workout modes, with enhanced tracking accuracy due to the new Sunflower Positioning System.

Battery performance varies depending on usage. The 46mm model lasts up to 4.5 days in standard mode and up to 11 days in battery saver mode, while the 42mm version provides up to 3 days of standard use and up to 7 days in battery saver mode. Charging is done wirelessly using the included second-generation SuperCharger.

Connectivity options include eSIM support for phone-free calling, Wi-Fi 6, dual-band GNSS positioning, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC payments. The watch is also built for durability, with 5 ATM water resistance and compliance with the IP69 standard.
