The first full-fledged SoC from Xiaomi?

The chip will be officially revealed in late May 2025.

This is not the first time Xiaomi has made its own chip. It is expected to be the company's move to reduce reliance on Qualcomm and MediaTek. This could be similar to what HUAWEI did with its HiSilicon Kirin chips for mobile phones.

Apart from the name reveal and estimated launch date, there are no other details about the upcoming chip yet.

Popular leaker Digital Chat Station said on Weibo that the device might be built under the 5nm process.

Previous rumors claim that the upcoming Xiaomi chipset will be comparable to the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It might use a 1+3+4 CPU configuration featuring a 1x Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.2GHz, 3x Cortex-A725 cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and 4x Cortex-A520 chips clocked at 2.0GHz. The GPU might be from Imagination Technologies, and the 5G modem might be from UNISOC.

These are not official yet, though. Let's wait for the official details.
