Is this the next best foldable?

Next world's best foldable?

Ahead of its full announcement, the Chinese manufacturer continues its teaser campaign on Weibo with the release of official images of the foldable.

The brand emphasized in its teaser that the previous generation X Fold3 still holds the record for being the lightest book-style foldable, and that the X Fold 5 will break that record. This means we can expect that the X Fold 5 to weigh below 219 grams.

The X Fold5 is also teased to be thinner than its predecessor, but will pack an even larger 6,000mAh battery capacity. The largest in a foldable yet. The battery is advertised to contain 12 percent silicon and can operate in -30 degrees Celsius.

The phone's hinge has been tested to work even in -20 degrees Celsius, and the phone's multitasking will supposedly get a boost thanks to vivo's Atomic Workbench, a desktop-like experience.

The last noteworthy reveal is that the vivo X Fold5 will supposedly be the first Android phone to seamlessly integrate into the Apple ecosystem. This is aimed specifically at iPhone users who want a folding phone but do not want to leave Apple's walled garden. With the X Fold5, they supposedly won't have to. A vivo executive says that the X Fold5 side-by-side with an iPhone is totally possible.

vivo is also expected to launch the phone globally on July 10, 2025.
