BYD Cars Philippines and Grab Philippines launch the first-ever BYD Grab Bay Caravan to promote electrified and sustainable mobility across the country.

The new BYD Grab Bay Caravan aims to make electric and hybrid vehicles more accessible to Filipinos by integrating BYD's advanced New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) into Grab's ride-hailing services. This initiative aligns with BYD's mission to expand the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions, allowing GrabCar driver-partners to offer commuters the comfort, efficiency, and eco-friendliness of electric vehicles. By equipping drivers with NEVs, the partnership not only enhances the passenger experience but also enables drivers to benefit from lower operational and maintenance costs compared to traditional combustion engine vehicles, leading to higher earnings per trip.

“This partnership with Grab allows us to bring electrified mobility into everyday transport, making it more accessible to Filipinos. It reflects our commitment to building a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable future,” said a representative from BYD Cars Philippines.

At the center of the partnership is the BYD Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic, said to be a technologically advanced, fuel-efficient sedan built on BYD’s Super DM-i platform. Designed for the rigors of daily ride-hailing, it offers up to 50 km of electric-only driving range and up to 1,175 km of combined driving range with its onboard generator. Its large class-above size, spacious and comfortable interiors, low operating costs, and once-a-year preventive maintenance scheduling make the BYD Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic a compelling choice for Transport Networks Vehicle Service operators and drivers.

GrabCar driver-partners who graced the event test drove the Seal 5 DM-i Dynamic, explored its innovative features, and took advantage of exclusive financing offers from bank partners, with convenient on-site application processing. Additional financial partners are expected to support future phases of the program.

The collaboration between BYD and Grab is poised to deliver significant benefits for the Philippines' transportation and environmental landscape, which could include accelerated adoption of Electric Vehicles, environmental sustainability, economic benefits for driver-partners, strengthened market presence, and regional expansion.
